Amity is one of India’s leading Education Group that has been at the forefront of empowering the youth with learning that is futuristic and global in character. As a continued effort in promoting excellence in learning, Amity Educational Resource Centre in partnership with Oxford Global Education Development Ltd (UK) is organizing (in June 2025) – Academic Summit for Young Leaders. This is a unique international educational event where ambitious high school students participate in intensive short courses led by independent team of Oxford researchers and specialized educators. The students engage with solutions to global problems. It is a rare opportunity to learn in depth about topics and subjects that go beyond the normal school curriculum and can be applied to address global challenges.

Dr Joana Perrone is an educator with experience in higher education, super curricular activities and research skills. She has a BA in International Relations from the University of Sussex, a Masters in Women’s Studies, and a PhD in Area Studies from Wadham College, University of Oxford, which focused on feminicide in Brazil. She designed the Academic Summit for Young Leaders as a programme to allow high school students to engage with higher education subjects, enhance critical thinking and learn research skills. In the past few years, she has also organised and chaired over 25 Model UN conferences in Asia, South Asia and Europe, pioneering several new international conferences such as Singapore and India. Dr Perrone has been teaching at a variety of undergraduate and graduate programmes at the university since 2019. Her book “Embodied Struggles”, on gender violence in Latin America will be published in late 2025.

The Academic Summit for Young leaders 2025 is a great opportunity for high school students to get an undergraduate feel since its taking place at the renowned Amity University campus and the course itself is a glimpse into University of Oxford’s level of study patterns.
Academic Summit for Young leaders is divided into 3 subject streams given above. Each of these focuses on its application towards solving a real-world challenge. In this way, we allow our students to engage with their studies outside of an exclusively academic context, and reveal how the skills they are learning give them the agency to become future global leaders.
Simranjeet Singh is a rocket and materials scientist and educator. He completed his B.Tech in Aerospace Engineering and is currently pursuing a PhD in Engineering (Aerospace and Materials) at the University of Oxford. He has taught engineering and Artificial Intelligence courses to undergraduate students at the University. Additionally, he has taught various science subjects in summer schools and short courses in the UK and abroad, as well as having been a consultant for Rolls Royce plc.
Jesita Ajani is a PhD researcher in Public Policy at Oxford. She has a BA in Economics from the University of Gadjah Mada, and a Masters in Economics Research in Paris School of Economics. Her research is within the intersection of labour, behavioural, and gender economics and before starting her DPhil, she was a pre-doctoral fellow at the Norwegian School of Economics, working in Tanzania and Ghana. She has taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels since 2017. In her spare time, Jesita enjoys boxing, reading, and doing content creation.
Beatriz Arruda is a neuroengineer and educator with 9 years of interdisciplinary neuroscience research experience. Originally from Brazil, she completed her ScB at Brown University, USA, with a double major in Biomedical University and Neuroscience, and her PhD in Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford. Passionate about teaching, she has taught subjects related to Psychology, Neuroscience and Engineering in the USA, the UK, Spain, and China. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the flute and doing capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art.

Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, the visionary behind Amity Group of Schools – one of the finest education groups in India, is a leader with a passion to introduce global trends for students. This course is designed to introduce students to the programming aspects of AI and introduce mathematical and financial aspects of artificial intelligence to students. It will teach them how to use MATLAB to operate AI tools, and give them an overview of applications of AI (modelling, deep learning etc.)

This course is designed to introduce high school students to the field of psychology with a focus on health and well-being. Through a combination of theory, interactive discussions, and hands-on activities, students will explore key topics, including adolescent psychopathology, early life stress, risk and resilience factors, and anxiety disorders.
The course emphasizes practical applications and critical thinking, as students engage in case studies, guided exercises, and reflection activities. By analysing real-world scenarios and learning about psychological strategies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness, students will gain foundational skills in mental health awareness and emotional regulation. Additionally, students will explore the neural basis of mental health conditions, understanding how brain structures such as the amygdala, prefrontal cortex, and hippocampus play a role in cognition and emotion.
