Suhani Chauhan of Class XI was bestowed with the prestigious Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Award 2024 by honourable President of India Droupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhawan, on the occasion of 75th<\/sup> Republic Day. The award has been conferred upon her for her innovation SO-APT (Solar Operated Agro Vehicle with Portable Tools) making her the only award recipient in innovation category and the only one from Delhi to have received it. The aim of SO-APT is to create a farming mechanism which resolves the hindrance faced by small farmers, makes the lives of small farmers easier and improve their financial condition. It is a vehicle operated fully by solar powered batteries, use four agricultural tools in a single vehicle with zero carbon footprint. \u00a0Besides, farmers can also use the battery for other purposes like operating fans, fodder cutting machine etc. Every year, Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is given to children in the age group 5-18 years with exceptional abilities and outstanding achievements in seven categories namely bravery, art & culture, environment, innovation, science & technology, social service, and sports that deserve national recognition. Each awardee is given a medal, certificate, and a citation booklet and an opportunity to participate in Republic Day parade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
