The Youth Power team of the school titled ‘Period Parity’, won the award for the Most Collaborative Approach at the grand finale of the 16th Youth Power. Youth Power is a year long annual ethical leadership and social awareness competition organised under the aegis of The Global Times.
Team Period Parity led by Aadvik Jain (XI) along with Aaratrika J. Anand, Navya Manglik and Shivansh Arora all from Class XI raised awareness about menstruation. They consulted a nutritionist to find out about dishes that are helpful to consume during menstruation and made period friendly dishes like ragi brownies, seeds mix, date pops, berry smoothies, kala chana chaat, etc., in school. The team also designed a cookbook called ‘The Menstrual Menu’ containing all these recipes and presented it to ‘Boho Bistro’ café in Vaishali. The café has included these dishes as a part of their daily specials. The event was graced by IPS Preeti Yadav, ADDL. SP (IPS) / DCP, Police Commissionerate, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF along with principals and other dignitaries of all the schools of Amity Group. The unique competition for sensitizing youth was judged by the eminent jury comprising Ms. Sumitra Goenka, entrepreneur and social activist, and Mr. Steve Rocha, Chief Visionary and Identity Leader at PRATYeK.
