Looking for the best foundation for your Child’s Education

Why is there a need for a good playschool?

‘Over 85% of a child’s cumulative brain development occurs prior to the age of 6, indicating the critical importance of appropriate care and stimulation of the brain in the early years in order to ensure healthy brain development and growth.’  (NEP; 2020)

The Learning window in this age is most optimum for development as well as learning. An ideal preschool consists of a flexible, multi-faceted, multi-level, play-based, activity-based curriculum. At Amity, we promote inquiry-based learning, consisting of alphabets, languages, numbers, counting, colors, shapes, indoor and outdoor play, puzzles and logical thinking, problem-solving, drawing, painting and other visual art, craft, drama and puppetry, music and movement.

What all should the play school aim to develop?

The ability to read and write, and perform basic operations with numbers, is a necessary foundation and an indispensable prerequisite for lifelong learning, along with helping to achieve foundational literacy and numeracy, it should also focus on developing social capacities, sensitivity, ethics, personal and public cleanliness, values like teamwork, cooperation as well as other social. The overall aim of a good playschool under the principles of ECCE should be to attain optimal outcomes in the domains of physical and motor development, cognitive development, socio-emotional-ethical development, cultural/artistic development, and the development of communication and early language, literacy, and numeracy. At Amity, our team acknowledges the developmental needs of children and optimizes the curriculum accordingly. The children are allowed to develop at a pace that supports their growth in all domains.

What factors does one keep in mind while choosing a Playschool?

Some of the very crucial points to keep in mind are:

  1. Curriculum and Teaching Philosophy: At Amity, our curriculum is aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and is designed to support the holistic development of every child cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and creative. We believe strongly that each child is unique, hence, the curriculum offers flexibility in pacing and pathways, allowing learning to unfold in accordance with individual readiness, interests, and potential. In keeping with NEP 2020’s emphasis on play-based, activity-oriented, and experiential learning, our classrooms are resource-rich environments with an abundance of age-appropriate teaching–learning materials. With an abundant presence of manipulatives, concrete materials, and hands-on tools, children explore, experiment, and joyfully engage with the same into daily learning experiences. They construct understanding meaningfully and develop strong foundational skills through learning by doing.
  2. A Low Teacher to Child Ratio: We ensure individual attention to every child and build on their capacities to optimum. We believe teaching and learning should be a joyous journey both for the child and for the teacher and a thoughtful low teacher to child ratio helps us achieve the same.
  3. A Safe and Warm Environment: At Amity, every space is carefully curated by our Respected Chairperson, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan and our teachers where safety is of prime importance. Every part of the school campus is child-friendly and well thought out. Our efforts are towards making it feel like home each day so that each child feels warm and cared for within the premises.
  4. Teachers and staff: Our teachers are highly qualified and ECCE-trained professionals, aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. They engage in continuous professional development to remain updated with developmentally appropriate pedagogies, innovative teaching practices, and child safety protocols.

Each educator is carefully handpicked by our Dear Chairperson, who believes that education is a service to society. The selection process emphasizes not only academic qualifications but also sensitivity towards young learners, ethical values, and a commitment to holistic development.

Following selection, teachers are nurtured within a shared and long-standing institutional vision, ensuring pedagogical continuity and emotional security for children. Their role extends beyond instruction to creating joyful learning environments that inspire curiosity, confidence, and the realization of every child’s unique potential. Our teachers have been most long standing with associations that go beyond decades of commitment to Institution’s vision.

  1. Communication and Effective Involvement with Parents: In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, we view parents as active partners in their child’s learning and development journey. We believe in clear, open, and continuous communication to strengthen this partnership. Regular updates, developmentally appropriate progress reports, and structured parent–teacher interactions ensure that parents have a transparent and holistic understanding of their child’s growth across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains. Our educators and staff remain accessible and responsive to parent queries, fostering mutual trust, collaboration, and shared decision-making in the best interest of the child.

For every parent who is looking for the best Play School with a CBSE curriculum, your search ends here at Amity where we strive to “nurture happy and lifelong learners”. The search for the right environment is worth every bit of effort. Because when we, as a community of parents and educators, see a child truly flourish in a nurturing setting, that success becomes a shared victory. To see a child meet their potential is not only our collective philosophy and goal but also our mutual, irreplaceable reward
