The school organised a workshop on ‘Mental health and child protection on October 30, 2017. The workshop conducted by Monica Kumar of Manas Foundation focussed on how teachers can readdress sensitive issues related to mental health of the child, role of a teacher in studying the student concerns, how teachers can help and watch for signs among students who show a tendency to commit suicide and do self-harm and report them or direct them to student counsellors or seek medical help. It also discussed student’s issues such as anxiety, depression, bullying, growing up, identity, self-esteem, gender sensitization, etc. CBSE’s guidelines on preventive measures were also talked about, to create a safe and secure environment for children.
