Team Rootbound, the youth power team of the school lead by Dakshayani K along with team members Aarav Tyagi, Jai Sharma and Siddhant Singh won the award for Best Social Implementation and Best Mentor Teacher, at the grand finale of the 17th Youth Power, the annual ethical leadership and social awareness competition organised under the aegis of The Global Times.
Team Rootbound organised several activities to raise awareness on mindful plantation. They created ‘From Seed to Superstar,’ an interactive board game that guides players through the biological stages of a plant’s life cycle, helping them understand plant growth and survival. The also created QR Trail in which different plants and trees across the school campus such as Champa, Bamboo, Neem, Neel Kamal, and Laluna Palm were identified and mapped. A unique QR code was created for each plant and placed beside it. When scanned using a mobile phone, the code revealed key information about the plant, including the climate it thrives in, its growth requirements, distinctive properties, and environmental benefits. The event was graced by Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF along with the Chief Guest Dr. Rashmi Singh Secretary, Dept of Women & Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi, Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, & Chairperson of Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights. This year’s Youth Power was judged by eminent jury comprising Manisha Ahlawat, Founder, School of Nature, Member of UP State Women’s Commission, Founder-partner at Kunzum Bookstores, and Aarti Srivastava, Professor and Head of Department of Higher and Professional Education, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA).
