The Youth Power team of the school titled ‘Ah-Saans!’, won the first runner up award, at the grand finale of the 16th Youth Power, while also winning the award for Creativity for a Cause. Youth Power is a year long annual ethical leadership and social awareness competition organised under the aegis of The Global Times.
Team Ah-Saans! led by Aprajita Jha, (IX) along with Amayra Gupta, Shlok Sharma and Shailain Bose all from Class IX conducted activities to raise awareness about asthma. They introduced a wristband for asthmatic students to ensure their safety and comfort. These wristbands were designed to easily identify students with asthma and hence ensure them the necessary accesses and treatment when needed. The team also organised an awareness session on potential triggers of asthma around us and distributed masks. They also conducted an awareness session on identifying symptoms of asthma, and first aid for asthma attack. Additionally, the team also crafted foot soak and body butter for healing dry skin and foot problem common in asthma. The event was graced by IPS Preeti Yadav, ADDL. SP (IPS) / DCP, Police Commissionerate, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF along with principals and other dignitaries of all the schools of Amity Group. The unique competition for sensitizing youth was judged by the eminent jury comprising Ms. Sumitra Goenka, entrepreneur and social activist, and Mr. Steve Rocha, Chief Visionary and Identity Leader at PRATYeK.
