Winners at the KWHS Investment Competition, 2019 at Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, U.S.A.
Surpassing its past legacy, team “Filter Coffee Investments” from Amity International School, Noida from India secured the 1st position with cash prize of $ 5,000 at the Global Finale of the very prestigious KWHS Investment Competition, 2019 held at the renowned Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, U.S.A., on 4th May, 2019. Amity International School, Noida, was also the 1st position holder in the Region -2 (South Asia and Middle East Region) of this Competition. Another team from Amity International School, Vasundhara-6, New Delhi also made it to the Global Finale, which is no mean feat. Two Amity teams at the Finale speak volumes about the learning imparted at Amity Institutions.
It is the lofty vision and the progressive philosophy of the Founder President of the Amity Universe, Dr. Ashok. K. Chauhan and the Chairperson RBEF & Amity Schools, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, which has inspired the students and faculty of Amity International School, Noida towards this spectacular achievement. They have a vision to see India shining on the world map, in all spheres of learning. Ever changing economies demand that the countries should have sound financial literacy. Amity Institutions are leaving no stone unturned to accomplish the same to see India at the top. The Principal of A.I.S, Noida, Mrs. Renu Singh said that she was sure that her students would surely accomplish their goal and make the country proud. The students along with their Teacher Advisor had worked very hard as a team, with full support from the school infrastructure, management, AERC (Amity education Resource Centre) and Amity University, Noida, at every level.
This prestigious international contest, organized by the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, U.S.A., stretches for around seven months and puts high school students in the shoes of global investment experts. This year , this competition was organized in three regions, Region – 1 (includes, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Taiwan, North Korea, South Korea, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan), Region -2 (includes, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.) and Region – 3 (includes, Countries and regions from the Americas, Europe, Africa and Oceania).
More than 2,500 teams participated in each of the regions. The team “Filter Coffee Investments” was declared 1st among the 9 Global finalist teams from all the three regions of this prestigious competition. The team had put in dedicated zeal and efforts with only one objective – to make INDIA proud. It was their immense love and sense of respect for the country which kept them motivated and positively competitive till the end. Vibrant smiles on the victorious faces displayed the true Amity spirit of taking INDIA to splendid heights of success in the world.
Team “Filter Coffee Investments” with team members Manvir Singh Rana (Teacher Advisor) were also commended for their creatively crafted website, Instagram page and conducting of several seminars. They also went on air at Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM, to spreading financial literacy.
