Library Keeping

Date: April 1, 2024

As the new session commenced, the book club of Class VI-VIII delved into a new domain of learning to keep the books in their demarcated place on library shelves. During the activity, students learnt how to stack the books by their call number which follows the Dewey Decimal Classification system. They understood how a call number works like an address for a book within a library as it uniquely identifies a specific book and helps users locate it on the shelves. It also represents the subject of the book. Students imbibed the art of maintaining the library collection efficiently and attained organisation skills making a huge set of books easily and efficiently accessible to the users.
