The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of the school organised a simulated session on manifesto writing to apprise students on its importance. A manifesto is an important document that goes a long way in upholding the democratic principles of a country while also showcasing the future intent of political parties. Members of the ELC, along with their classmates, drafted manifestos for their respective parties to generate awareness and develop the spirit of critical thinking and responsible citizenship. Students were told that a manifesto is a public notice, a statement of beliefs, aims, policies, intentions and opinions and a pledge that the parties and their candidates take. It also forms the basis of a campaign and hence, written in a persuasive style fortifying the core of democracy.
