A panel discussion on ‘Digital finance: Navigating the future of accessible finance’ was organised for students of Class XI-XII (commerce & humanities stream) on July 24, 2024. Conducted by the school’s Economics Society, the panel discussion comprised eminent panelists Parag Gupta, chartered accountant, faculty & member, NCERT; Avneesh Mishra & Manya Singh, alumni, AIS Noida; and senior school faculty members. The key points during the discussion were the prevailing trends in digital finance, with a special focus on the rapid adoption of digital currencies and blockchain technology, highlighting their potential to transform traditional banking systems. The discussion also addressed regulatory challenges posed by digital finance, including concerns around cybersecurity, fraud, and consumer protection. The need for a balanced approach that fosters innovation while maintaining strong regulatory frameworks to protect consumers and ensure financial stability was emphasised. Panelists accentuated how traditional banks are adapting to the digital finance wave by investing in technology and forming strategic partnerships with fintech companies. The prospects of digital finance were also explored. Following the discussion, an engaging Q&A session took place, where the audience raised questions about the role of artificial intelligence in digital finance.
