Vantika Aggarwal an alumna of the school, made history as part of the Indian women’s team that won the Fide Chess Olympiad 2024 at Budapest, marking a significant achievement in Indian sports. The women’s team, comprising Vantika Agrawal, Tania Sachdev, Harika Dronavalli, Divya Deshmukh, and R Vaishali, secured the gold medal, finishing ahead of strong teams like Kazakhstan and the USA. Vantika also won individual gold on her table. An International Master, Vantika played a pivotal role in India’s success during the tournament. One of her key contributions was a crucial victory over Grandmaster Irina Krush, which helped secure a 2-2 draw against the United States and kept the team’s gold medal hopes alive.
