GirlUp Gauravi, the GirlUp chapter of AIS Noida and all Amity International Schools in India and overseas conducted a symposium cum interactive workshop in hybrid mode on the International Day of Happiness. The programme aimed to foster dialogue and encourage positive action centered around the well-being of girls. Around 300 students from Class VI-VIII participated in the event conducted by Sanjana Chauhan (XI), president, GirlUp Gauravi and vice president Stuti Priya (XI). The occasion was graced by Dr Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Universe, Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools & RBEF, along with other dignitaries from Amity Education Group. Distinguished scientist and neuropsychologist Dr. Manas Kumar Mandal, Former Dir. Gen., DRDO, graced the event as Chief Guest. He motivated students to maintain a positive outlook in life during stressful times and spoke about the importance of gratitude. This was followed by a Q&A session with the students. Post this, Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Arora, Head, Amity Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness, engaged students in many activities including breathing exercises. Moving on, Founder President highlighted the importance of remaining happy and maintaining positivity in life, while Chairperson inaugurated the ‘Wall of happiness’, a concept instituted by the UN General Assembly. In her address, she mentioned that working for the well-being of Amitians and Amitasha makes her truly happy. The event concluded with the students’ writing messages about what makes them happy on the wall of happiness.
