THE MEETING OF THE MANAGING COMMITTEE

A meeting of the Amity International School, Sec-46, Gurgaon Managing Committee was held on 4th December 2019 in the school Premises. the meeting began with the lighting of the lamp and chanting of the Gayatri Mantra followed by the students, invoking the blessings of the Almighty. Ms. Arti Chopra, Ex-officio Member, SMC & Principal, Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon welcomed all the members of the Managing Committee.

  • The Annual Report: Principal, Ms. Arti Chopra proceeded with the Annual Report, highlighting the achievements of the students. Some of the key achievements were as follows:
    The students of Amity International School, Sector 46 came out with flying colors yet again for class XII by achieving phenomenal results in CBSE Examination.
  • Aakriti Kiran became the CBSE Gurugram Topper and all India 4th Ranker in Humanities stream with 99.2% (scoring a 100 in History and Painting).
  • Tanvi Anand topped the Commerce stream with 97.8 % and is CBSE Gurugram Topper (scoring a 100 in History)
  • Shreya Jathvedan topped the Science stream with 97.2%.
  • Pia Gupta and Yatee Sukhani were the Gurugram district toppers with 99.4% aggregate and were also at ALL INDIA IIIrd position, scoring an unbelievable 497/500.
  • 68 students achieved a score of perfect 100 in various subjects
  • Another promising news of the year was that Aryan Gupta, Abhimanu Sinha and Himanshu Jindal, have qualified NTSE and KVPY both and the recently NTSE has been cracked by Achintya Gupta too.
  • It was a proud moment for our school when it was awarded by Education World, the leading human development magazine, with Grand Jury’s Award 2019 named, ‘The School Creating Best Social Impact.’
  • Global Gurus felicitated the Principal with the Principal of the Year award 2019 for the propagation of best practices from various schools across India, for the other schools to emulate.
  • In South Asian Sports Aerobics & Fitness Championships – 2019 in Bhutan our students Shivangi Bharani, Diaonshi Gupta and Jahnavi Yadav received 6 gold and 1 silver medal in 4 events
  • This year, our new Swimming Pool was inaugurated by our beloved Chairperson Ma’am in July and we have since organized the SGFI State under 14 championships where 22 schools participated
  • The members found the school report very satisfying and expressed their delight over the success of school on all fronts, be it sports, academics or co-curriculars. Thereafter the agenda was taken up for discussion.
  • Moving ahead with the agenda, the following strategic points were discussed:
    Increase in school fees: Keeping in mind the commencement of seventh pay commission salary structure for the staff and the growing infrastructural & capacity building needs of the Institution, it was proposed to raise the school fees up to 10%, as per the acceptable norms of the state Govt. All the members agreed in principle and found the proposal justified. As the parent members too were of the same opinion, the proposal was unanimously accepted.
  • Digitization of Classrooms in Senior Wing (Class XI-XII): It was deemed necessary, keeping the needs of constructivist classrooms and was unanimously approved.
  • Renovation/Construction of new MP Hall due to increase in number of students. Regarding this proposal, it was informed that the planning was already in process.
  • Underground Parking: Due to the traffic congestion outside the school campus, it was found necessary to consider Underground parking option on priority. There was acceptance by all, on this proposal.
  • Classrooms in E-Block Ground Floor: It was proposed to construct four to five new classrooms on E- block Ground Floor, to meet the need of growing senior secondary section. The proposal was accepted by the members.
  • Other strategic requirements: Construction of New Washrooms for Support Staff. Modification of Computer labs, making a shed over the Swimming Pool, Expansion of Guard room, Landscaping of area Inside and outside the boundary wall in front of the school, Renovation of Junior Library and Senior Mathematics Laboratory were considered essential by the members and it was decided that they could all be taken up in due course of the year. The members mostly approved all the demands put up, keeping in mind the interests of the

  • Parent’s Feedback- Mr. Ramesh Gaur, began by congratulating all the members present for the great CBSE Board result given by the faculty members for the past four years, consistently. At this point, the members applauded in resonance with each other. He further added that he found his daughters very safe inside the school.
    Ms. Niharika Srivastava, parent representative, cited that her daughters were doing extremely well in school and was happy with the support provided by teachers. She further added if Air Purifiers could be installed in the classrooms. It was discussed that since the complete air-conditioning of the building allows the filtration of air within the classroom, this requirement has already been looked into.
  • Confirmation of the minutes of the last meeting. -The minutes, of the last management meeting held on 14th May 2019 were ratified and approved.
  • Appointments & Resignation A list of all the new appointments, all cases of confirmation and resignations with requisite details were placed before the committee and a request for their ratification was made. All fresh appointments, confirmations and resignations were unanimously ratified.
