A delegation of seven students and two teachers of NikolausVon-Kues Gymnasium, Germany participated in Nurturing Leadership Program The program was launched in 2015 and has been organised with 8 countries earlier, namely Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, and Germany. The German students experienced an enriching exposure to Indian traditions at the homes of host families they stayed with. During their stay in India, they visited several historical sites in Delhi, Jaipur and Agra as well as the sprawling campus of Amity University, Jaipur. They also visited Goethe Institute and met Dr Marla Stukenberg, director, Max Muller Bhavan. At AIS Noida, they learnt the Indian traditional art of Bandhej and carried the dupattas they made back home with them as mementos. They also met Amitasha students who to everyone’s delight interacted with them in German. Christian Franzen, a teacher from Germany, also taught chemistry to Class X students of AIS Noida. The German delegation was accorded a warm farewell at a ceremony graced by the Chairperson, along with Puneet Kaur, Head of educational program, and Shilpa Sharma, Project Manager from Goethe Institute, and host parents. Parents also shared their experience of hosting German students. German teachers Christian Franzen and Franziska Renée Bauer thanked the Chairperson and Amity for their warm hospitality.
