Youth Power 2024-25

Date: April 30, 2025

The Youth Power team of the school titled ‘Swadeshi’, won the second runner up award along with AIS Gur 43, at the grand finale of the 16th Youth Power, while also winning the award for Best Community Outreach Programme and the Best Mentor Teacher. Youth Power is a year long annual ethical leadership and social awareness competition organised under the aegis of The Global Times.

Team Swadeshi, led by Pavni Talwar (XI) along with Aadya Gupta (XI), Pavitr Pandey (XI) and Bhavini Jha (XI) conducted activities to raise awareness on ‘Make in India’. They created a web application called Go Swadeshi, aimed at promoting awareness and support for Indian brands. The platform allows users to verify whether a brand is Indian or not and if not then, the app recommends Indian alternatives. This helps consumers make informed conscious choices that align with the spirit of self-reliance and local entrepreneurship. The team also interacted with 25 artisans to discuss ‘Make in India’ impact on their business and visited a local farm to raise awareness about using indigenous seeds for crops. On Diwali, they organised a ‘Make Your Own LED Light’ activity, centred on crafting traditional lights using locally sourced materials, thereby promoting the spirit of ‘Vocal for Local.’ They even collaborated with Khadi India to highlight the significance of supporting Indian-origin products and promote ‘Make in India’ products and locally made goods at Trade Fair and Dilli Haat where they organised nukkad natak and interacted with people.

The event was graced by IPS Preeti Yadav, ADDL. SP (IPS) / DCP, Police Commissionerate, Gautam Buddha Nagar and Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF along with principals and other dignitaries of all the schools of Amity Group. The unique competition for sensitizing youth was judged by the eminent jury comprising Ms. Sumitra Goenka, entrepreneur and social activist, and Mr. Steve Rocha, Chief Visionary and Identity Leader at PRATYeK.
