Rakshabandhan with President

It was a momentous day for a team of 5 students, Utkarsh Bora (X), Samarth Gupta (VII), Srishti Narayanan (X), Akshaj Singhal (VIII) and Ipshita Kochhar (VII) as they had the honour of meeting the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on. They were among 600 school students from 17 states across the country, and the only five representatives from the entire Amity fraternity, selected to celebrate the festival of Rakshabandhan with the President. Accompanied by their principal Ms. Meenu Kanwar, the students witnessed grand celebrations that began with the President’s inspiring address. She urged them to play an active role in conserving the environment by taking responsibility for nature and planting at least one tree every year.  Thereafter, the students got a chance to tie rakhi to the revered President. Amitians also presented a self-made painting depicting Santhali dance using acrylic on paper as a medium, along with a copy of The Global Times, the registered student weekly newspaper of Amity.
