Under the able guidance of Dr (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity Group of Schools and RBEF who has always encouraged children to undertake different social initiatives, Gursimran Singh, Class, won a Gold medal at the 7th Annual Pramerica Spirit of Community Awards in the individual category for having built ‘EyeScribe’, an assistive device to help the visually impaired experience the joy of reading. The school also won a Bronze medal for their community services done under their initiative ‘MustQuito’ conducted by their schools Youth Power team in the Group category to create awareness on how to combat mosquitoes. Gursimran was awarded a cash reward of Rs 50,000, and a return trip to Washington, D.C. in May 2017 where he will represent India in the global felicitation ceremony.
