YOUTH POWER

Introduction

The annual ethical leadership programme, initiated by The Global Times-Amity’s youth newspaper, aims at grooming students as harbingers of change. Young leaders from across all Amity International Schools work on different social issues related to women, by forming teams, researching topics, designing plans of action, generating funds and finally showcasing their work in the form of a presentation at the grand finale.

Youth Power team Urja of school bagged the first runners up position in a tie with Youth Power team of AIS Mayur Vihar and also won the award for best social implementation at Youth Power finale. Team mentor Ms. Saritha Chittal also won the award for best mentor teacher. This year’s Youth Power finale was graced by Ms. Maha Siddiqui, Associate Editor- Anchor, CNN –News 18 as the chief guest. The eminent jury comprised Dr. Joya Bhattacharya Associate Professor, Gargi College, Delhi University, Ms. Karina Bhasin Community Engagement Lead, Even Cargo & Delhi OYE and Ms. Runjhun Sharma Senior Correspondent, CNN-News18. Team Urja with its team mentor Ms. Saritha Chittal; team leader Ansh Deo Singh of Class XI; team members Aakarshi Agarwal, Chinmayi Sahai, Mughda Jain of Class XI worked towards making people aware of sustainable and renewable energy resources and how to use them in daily life to make our planet cleaner and greener.
